1795: The Thermidorians

Designer Jason St.Just
Publisher Sound of Drums GmbH
Players 1-5
Playtime 30-90 mins
Suggested Age 12 and up
Expansion For 1793: Patriots & Traitors

Those that had brought about the fall of Robespierre in Thermidor were dubbed 'The Thermidorians'. All agreed that the so-called 'Terror' had to be winded down but this in turn prompted the Royalists and Sans-culottes from re-emerging out of the the shadows. The Thermidorians want to ensure the survival of the Republic but they do not want to restore the monarchy, nor are they willing to preserve popular democracy. The Thermidorian faction starts this expansion with a slight advantage, but it is going to have to walk the sharp line in between the 'right' (Conservatives) and the 'left' (Radicals) in order to emerge victorious...otherwise, the 'Dry guillotine' awaits!

This first expansion is played with the 1793:Patriots & Traitors base game.
